Our Impact

From one campus in Tanzania to a national blueprint for outcomes-evidenced education — powered by the teacher, multiplied by technology.

02
THE CONTEXT

Tanzania's Education Opportunity
Is a Teacher Opportunity.

7.png
CAPABILITY GAP

Only 4% of Tanzania’s teacher pipeline is currently filled. Tanzania faces a shortage of 270,000+ teachers.

Without a formed teacher, the ecosystem cannot function.

5.png
DELIVERY GAP

73:1 student teacher ratio in government schools.

Enrolment without quality outcome evidenced learning is not a solution.

6.png
LEARNING GAP

<50% primary graduates can read or do basic maths

Schooling is not translating into meaningful learning.

KEY FINDING

Not a school-building challenge. A teacher opportunity — in availability and in quality at scale. One variable separates Silverleaf students from the national average: a teacher trained in English, empowered through technology, equipped to build confidence alongside a love for learning.

Our Theory of Change

When teachers are trained at scale — in English,  leveraging technology,  embedded in the national curriculum — outcomes-evidenced, affordable basic education becomes replicable across Tanzania without proportional increases in cost or infrastructure.

Together, they are the only model in Tanzania simultaneously demonstrating what measurably effective basic education looks like and building the workforce required to deliver it everywhere else.

TEACHER TRAINING INSTITUTE
The Training Engine

Trains and deploys teachers at scale — in English, through technology, within the national curriculum. The only MCTE-accredited, English-medium pipeline in Tanzania.

NETWORK OF SCHOOLS
The Proof

Demonstrates what measurably effective basic education looks like — pre-primary to secondary — in the same communities, at $1.50 per child per day.

Tracking the Theory

Five things must go right for Silverleaf to close the national gap.

If any link breaks, everything downstream fails.  We track every link — not just the last one.

QUALITY

Is every classroom delivering English-medium, Montessori-SEL learning?

92%

TRAINING

Is the Teacher College producing graduates who replicate quality elsewhere?

~80%

MULTIPLIER

Are placed graduates changing classrooms beyond the Silverleaf network?

If this link holds, impact is not additive — it compounds.

SYSTEM CHANGE

Is the model being adopted at government and national scale?

ACCESS

Are children in underserved communities able to enrol — and stay?

TECHNOLOGY

the engine powering every link

Delivery: Offline-first, AI-leveraged curriculum. Tablet-based learning in every classroom — no connectivity required.

Training: WhatsApp-accessible in-service development. The Hybrid Track reaches rural teachers without a campus.

Evidence: EdAdmin tracks outcomes back through the chain — closing the feedback loop and building the evidence that turns a model into a blueprint.

03
HOW IT WORKS

Three Drivers. No Other Provider

in Tanzania Combines All Three.

These are not features. They are the causal mechanism. Remove any one and the model does not work.

DRIVER 1

Social & Emotional Learning (SEL)

Not just trained but formed. Silverleaf builds the full child profile: academically strong, emotionally capable, future-ready.

SEL is not a soft indicator — it predicts literacy, employment readiness, and whether a child becomes a citizen who can think, not just test. Every teacher trained through the College delivers SEL-integrated teaching from day one.

DRIVER 2

English-Medium from Pre-Primary

English proficiency is not a luxury in Tanzania's education market — it is the single most reliable predictor of secondary access, tertiary readiness, and economic mobility.

Silverleaf removes this structural barrier at the root. Every student and every teacher trainee is prepared for a world that requires it.

DRIVER 3

Technology as the Scale Mechanism

Digital infrastructure is not an add-on. It is how the model reaches beyond what physical campuses alone can serve — EdAdmin, Hybrid Track, offline-first PPP delivery, AI-leveraged curriculum.

The pedagogy travels. The device ratio does not.

05
THE TEACHERS

First cohorts: 140+ Teachers Trained.

425 Classrooms Changed.

Every teacher Silverleaf trains becomes a practitioner in someone else's school. The pipeline is already active.

1 TEACHER TRAINED = 5 CLASSROOMS CHANGED

~80% of Teacher Training Institute graduates employed in education — Silverleaf schools, private schools, government placements.

Each graduate takes their training into new classrooms and school communities, extending the reach of the Silverleaf learning model far beyond our own campuses.

The multiplier is not a projection. It is already active.

~57 graduates are now teaching outside the Silverleaf Academy network

Growing Our Reach:

2025: 85 teachers → 425 classrooms reached
2027: 1,200 teachers → 6,000 classrooms reached
2030: 8,000 teachers → 40,000 classrooms reached

06
THE MULTIPLIER

This Is How System Change
Actually Works.

It doesn't start with government. It doesn't start with policy. It starts with a school that proves the model — and a college that builds the people to carry it.

1: ONE SILVERLEAF CAMPUS

Proves English-medium, outcomes-evidenced education is financially viable at $1.50/child/day

2: TEACHER COLLEGE TRAINS TEACHERS

Graduates formed inside the proof — 50/50 theory-practicum, Montessori-accredited

3: DEPLOYED BEYOND SILVERLEAF

~57 graduates now in private schools and government institutions across Tanzania

4: METHODS SPREAD

Hybrid Track + TIL pilot carry the model into rural and government-sector classrooms

5: PPP FORMALISED

Silverleaf becomes government's credible, accredited partner to fill the 271,025 deficit

6: PAN-AFRICA BLUEPRINT

The operational model — deployable across Sub-Saharan Africa within national curricula

07
TECHNOLOGY

Technology as the Scale Mechanism.

Digital infrastructure isn't an add-on. It's how the model reaches teachers and students beyond what physical campuses alone can serve.

ACADEMIC DATA PLATFORM
EdAdmin

Rolling out across all campuses. 100% coverage target 2026. Foundation for all MEL integrity and outcome verification.

TABLET-ENABLED CLASSROOMS
Offline-First Learning

Rolling out across all campuses. 100% coverage target 2026. Foundation for all MEL integrity and outcome verification.

REMOTE TEACHER TRAINING
Hybrid Track

Extends Teacher College reach beyond residential cohorts — rural regions, lower connectivity. Key to geographic scale.

OUTCOME-EVIDENCED TEACHING
AI-Leveraged Curriculum

Technology amplifies the teacher — it does not replace the relationship. Silverleaf's AI-leveraged curriculum, developed in partnership with Taleemabad — who have reached 10 million+ students across Pakistan — brings offline-first, outcome-evidenced lesson delivery to every classroom, at scale.

08

2035 · More young Africans will enter the global workforce than the rest of the world combined.

Sub-Saharan Africa will soon host nearly half the world's youth. In Tanzania, Silverleaf will prove that outcomes-evidenced education can be achieved at scale. The operational model becomes the blueprint — deployable across Sub-Saharan Africa within national curricula.
